Key points

  • San Francisco startup fal has raised $1.3 billion in a Series F round at a $16 billion valuation, Bloomberg reported on November 3, 2026.
  • The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with Nvidia, Sound Ventures, HOF Capital and T. Rowe Price taking part.
  • The valuation doubles the $8 billion fal was valued at in April 2026, when it raised about $350 million in a Sequoia-led Series E.
  • Fal says the Series E and F together total $1.65 billion and will fund inference computing capacity and hiring.

Fal, a startup that runs generative AI models for images, video and audio, has raised $1.3 billion at a $16 billion valuation, according to Bloomberg. The Series F round, announced on November 3, 2026, was led by Bessemer Venture Partners and doubles the value the company carried just seven months ago.

What happened

Bessemer Venture Partners led the Series F, and Bessemer partner Talia Goldberg is joining the board of Features & Labels Inc., fal’s formal company name. Nvidia participated as a strategic investor, alongside Sound Ventures, HOF Capital and T. Rowe Price, according to reports on the round.

Fal announced the Series F together with its earlier Series E, which was led by Sequoia Capital and closed earlier in the year. The company said the two rounds total $1.65 billion. Bloomberg reported that the Series E raised about $350 million at an $8 billion valuation in April 2026.

Bessemer said in its own post that it first invested in fal at the Series B stage two years ago and has backed the company in every round since.

How fast fal’s valuation has grown

Fal’s rise has been unusually steep, even by the standards of the current AI funding boom:

  • July 2025: a $125 million Series C at a $1.5 billion valuation, as reported by Reuters at the time.
  • December 2025: $140 million at a $4.5 billion valuation.
  • April 2026: about $350 million at an $8 billion valuation.
  • November 2026: $1.3 billion at a $16 billion valuation.

Reports citing a source familiar with the business put fal’s annualised revenue at around $800 million, which would put the new valuation at roughly 20 times revenue.

What fal actually does

Fal sells inference, which is the work of running an AI model to produce an output after it has been trained. Its focus is generative media: developers and companies send requests to fal’s platform to create images, video clips or audio, and fal handles the computing needed to return results quickly and at scale.

That makes fal part of the infrastructure layer behind many consumer and business apps that generate media, rather than a company building its own frontier AI models.

Why it matters

The round is another sign that investors see inference, not just model training, as one of the biggest opportunities in AI. As AI features move into everyday software, the cost and speed of running models becomes a major business in its own right.

Fal’s closest comparison is Fireworks AI, another inference provider, which raised about $1.5 billion at a $17.5 billion valuation in July 2026. Fal’s new valuation puts it just behind that rival. Nvidia’s participation in both companies’ rounds also shows how chipmakers are investing across the customers that buy their hardware.

The deal is also part of a wider pattern of capital concentrating in a small number of very large AI rounds. On a day when fal’s round was announced, most other startup deals were in the single- or double-digit millions, such as Ocient’s $100 million Series C.

What happens next

Fal says the new money will go toward inference computing capacity to run models at large scale, and toward growing the team that builds its next products. The company has said the funding will support its work through 2027. The bigger test will be whether fal’s revenue keeps pace with a valuation that has doubled twice in under a year.
